The author has made some mistakes.

It is limited government, not democracy, that brought freedom to the Western World.

Freedom, not democracy, brought prosperity to the Western World.

Limited government, not egalitarianism, makes democracy work in the Western World.

The Islamic fundamentalist doesn't not covet what the Western World has wrought. He objects to having his faith shown to be flawed by the successes of the West while his people live out their lives in Medieval fashion. His thinking is that his people live as they should and the high living standards of the West are an Abomination.

This thinking is also the reason why Israel, so successful in the heart of the beast, denying them claim that the Western World is successful by it's placement across the world's resources.

I believe this thinking also reveals the consistency in the demonstrated lusts of the Arab in America, all the while hating us.

The Islamic fundamentalists' hatred for America runs deeper than mere jealousy. It's founded on the complete incompatibility of their belief system and Western success, and prosperity.

They do not want what we have, they want to destroy us to deny proof of the flaws in their belief system.

I agree with your critiques of what is otherwise an extrordinarily great piece of thinking and writing.

I would quibble with the erudite and eloquent Mr. Hanson on one other point as well: Be not too sure that ignorance, rather than malevolence, is at the heart of the Middle Eastern Muslims' slanders of the West, and particularly those of America. They're losing their brightest and best to us, in a steady stream. Their emigres are earning (by Middle Eastern standards) fortunes they can't commandeer, are associating with "infidels" in relative harmony, and are raising their children in a vein closer to that of liberal Christian America than to that of Wahhabi-dominated Saudi Arabia or Shi'a Iran. Their emigres are making them look bad.

If there's one thing a man who claims to have a purchase on Absolute Truth doesn't want, it's to look like an ineffectual, unwashed moron. He won't like you for it.

You would be about the first person I have seen that really gets it. Socialist/liberals world wide are so crazy as to think they can negotiate with people like this. It's beyond their mental capacity to grasp that they have finally come nose to nose with the ultimate in diversity. An utterly alien deadly group think, known as Islam, that flies in the face of what the West understands as "human nature".

If this is true then I detect a bit of hypocrisy in those who visit America, when out from under the oppressive restrictions of Islamic fundamentalism, have no problem indulging in all America has to offer.
