Thanks for the information...
I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt...maybe they all have day jobs during the week? But this puts a different perspective on their agenda. Although, they are making people feel better at least on weekends. Maybe national guard during the week and they could wear bullet proof vests? (that's probably too extreme isn't it)

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I didn't like the way this was used as a publicity stunt by Sliwa and MSNBC.

I've got to get back to work, but there was just something that rankled me about this, and that was the publicity stunt aspect of it. So many of us have friends and relatives in the area and I want them protected 24/7, which is impossible, of course.

Your idea about national guards being used at gas stations and wearing bullet proof vests isn't extreme at all. In fact, I've heard on the news that the Gov. of the two states are considering calling out the Guard. Saw a civilian pumping gas at a gas station and he'd bought a bullet proof vest!
