Actually that would be a great idea...spy cams with night vision capability set up in likely sniper locations throughout the DC Metro Area. Perhaps the military could help out on this.

Interesting theory. Some of the descrptions say it is the panel truck version, which would have, I guess, a sheet metal or plastic panel in place of the windows. If the panel is mounted like the window, it would probably be possible to open it, or retro-fit it to open like a window, and you would not have to worry about the muzzle blast breaking a glass window.

OTOH, that's not a VERY common vehicle. I'm suprised the BOLO has not netted anything, or that we don't have pictures from a security cam in the area of one or more of the shootings.

Of course, Arcades are open to everyone and this guy wants to be the best and would have played until he was top dog.

Years ago my husband had a site assignment for his job in Manassas, VA, and we lived in that area off and for a while so some of these locals seem eerily familiar to me. I am also thinking it's a young male who spends way too much time gaming on the internet. Now he's acting out his fantasies. And he may have a stooge along for the ride. There's usually a smart one and an dumb one, like Klebold and Harris.

Don't know if the post about the arcades was intended for me, but I agree that it's online gaming with the possiblity of checking and tracking IP addresses that could turn up a lead. Arcades would be useless.

For the sake of full disclosure I do post on DU as well under a different name. My political leanings are basically solidly in the middle and on some issues I lean a little further on one side and other issues I'll lean further in the other direction.

The greater DC area is nothing *but* likely sniper locations. This one is going to be solved because of great luck on the part of the citizens/police or a slip-up on the part of the shooter.

Shooter..that was a good tip, one yahoo search and look. See this guys profile? Probably nothing at all but it would be interesting to know where he is from. It would be worth the effort for the police to look into your theory. GOD HAND

And look at the game they were playing at the test criminals thing. "I am Syphillis" "I am Henry Kissinger" kinda spooky huh?
