I went to a High Power Rifle Class about five years ago. It was great. It didn't really help me with my score but the people running it were fantastic. It was a little too cold for us to spend on the range itself. We had a bad front move in that stopped us from shooting most of the time.
The club I go to has a group of kids that are around 12 years old. Their grandfather brings them to the range.
That's too bad about the class' shooting time. The Highpower people I have met are wonderfully friendly types. I went to Camp Perry last summer for the first time, and the people were absolutely wonderful. I wish some of the media would spend some time there during the Matches - it sure is different from the image they peddle about shooters.
One of the more important things we can do as shooters is to get youth into the sport. Teaching firearms safety, with the Eddie Eagle program, and then getting interested kids into smallbore rifle, will ensure the propagation of shooting sports.
