All of the major networks have decided not to carry Bushes speech live.

They pulled the same stunt during 1992 campaign too.

god forbid they'd actually help Republicans in some indirect way ... no, they will instead have wall-to-wall coverage of liberals on their morning shows.

lol

et, tu, Fox Network?

I don't disagree with you ..

But the problem I have is this is NOT a republican or a democrat issue ... it is an American issue

Even if we had a Dem President (thank God we don't) I would STILL want to hear what the President had to say.. because is has to deal with OUR COUNTRY

It is obvious the Networks have their OWN agenda and America's National Security is not one of them

I wouldnt push this issue too hard ... imagine a President Gore ... he'd probably want to lecture us weekly and the networks would gladly give him the space on primetime.

oooyyy.

I hear you but the fact is most Americans are not afraid of the threats you have pointed out. They are more afraid of not making their mortgage payments whether you like it or not. They see the good job being done by the agencies capturing suspects and their focus is elsewhere.

As someone who lost about $12,000 in the market TODAY, I can tell you I DO CARE ABOUT IRAQ AND WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT MORE THAN ECONOMY. I WANT TO KNOW IF AND WHEN AND HOW WE WILL STOP SADDAMS WMD PROGRAM.

Why? Because that is what Washington can handle and decide on. The only thing relevent from DC is their policies.
And right now the #1 policy issue is The War on Terror and Iraq.

Whether people care about their pocketbook is not relevent. Of course we do. But what is relevent is WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING OUR NATIONAL LEADERS. ANSWER: WAR ON TERROR AND IRAQ.

I don't disagree with that point, but if they don't realize the real threat that we face, then they are never gonna get it and the economy won't be improving anytime soon

For the record, i agree with you ... but remember, the networks gave Clinton time to "apologize" after his deposition in aug 1998.

I would think a foreign policy speech right before congressional and perhaps UN action would be a *tad* more important.

Apparently the networks are more "concerned" about getting their new primetime liberal indoctrination season shows than about American lives.

yep!

Best way to dispose of Gore is to hand him the mike. He'll take care of the rest.

You guys have the same old tired play book. I was just listening to Lars Larsen in Portland, Or..

You posted, They are more afraid of not making their mortgage payments whether you like it or not.

Lars, just played a long rant from a former socialist congressit from Portland, Oregon. This was exactly the meat of her rant. They are more afraid of not making their mortgage payments whether you like it or not.

It sounds like Saddam writes the pap for 1/3 of America.

What do you mean "you guys"? I am not a liberal rat like Lars Larson. I'm a free thinking conservative who happens not to agree with Bush's brand of politics.

>>the economy won't be improving anytime soon<< .... Another military action in Iraq will be cakewalk and Bush knows it. He's talking war but it would be more like a skermish. The economy is more like work and he's avoiding it as he would if he had to paint the Lincoln Bedroom.

Media to Bush--

"Make the case for war with Iraq"

Bush to media--

"Okay, I will"

Media to Bush--

"Yeah, well too bad we won't be covering it, sucker!"

Interesting that all the major networks carried the speech. So much for all the breast beating.

My local station carried it. I switched to Foxnews at the end to hear Brit talking about it---what a breath of fresh of air he is!

I'm as outraged as you are about the BIG THREE not covering President Bushes speech. However, local abc affiliate KRDO, in Colorado Springs, did carry the speech under their own authority. I was pleasantly surprised and already sent them a thank you email, even though I did watch Bush on FOX News Channel.

Folks, keep in mind Bush did not ASK for time and also the details of this speech indicate it is just a rehashing of the same information. He may drop a surprise tonight......I hope. But the chance of that is very slim and it looks like this is a run of the mill speech. I have no idea why this one is getting so much play in the media.

Good comments.

Kudos to you two for keeping your heads on this thread, amidst the mountains and molehills.
