That was my thought, and some has posted that the perp was shooting from about 75 yards..22LR theory doesn't hold water.

Well this child is now in Critical, BUT STABLE condition, this is a good sign, and I hope and pray they will be ok. I also want to see the coward who did this disemboweled while still alive and if he is some arab islam (&@#$ that it be broadcast live on AL JAZEERA!

Now channel 9 TV news is covering the behind. The shooter may have been in a vehicle on the side of the road in between the school and the woods.

You are spot on, it sounds more like some type of frangible or pre-fragged ammo. There are alot of .220 - .224 caliber varmint rounds that expand and fragment in a violent manner. It may be .22 caliber, but I doubt .22 lr.
