I would doubt a 22 cal could leave a wound "the size of a coffe cup". I did a lot a hunting as a boy, used my trusty 22, shot a lot of longrifle hollowpoints, mostly on squirels and rabbits. The entry wound is 1/8th of an inch in diamater, the exit wound about the size of a dime. The range was usually maybe 50 feet. At 75 yards the velosity would have decreased and it would be doubtful that the bullet would have had enough steam left to exit the body.

I could be wrong.
