These are all good and prudent actions being taken by school officials. However, if I had grandchild in that area, I would advise my daughter to keep him/her home until this is resolved. It's just not worth the risk.

Area residents on WMAL are calling for the cancellation of schools, at least for tomorrow. Officials have closed schools for less, such as the threat of bad weather -- in the interest of safety. It's a tough call for those in positions of authority. For now, only outside activities both during and after school hours have been cancelled.
