Your compassion was commendable.....

There are a lot of misnomers on this thread regarding weapons, ballistics etc. being slung around as fact....

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or energy to correct them....Long rang shooters deal in 750yards or better... From the reports that have surfaced from the police, the sniper is between 100 and 200 yards....

My eleven year old son could handle those shots with ease....

The "sniper" obviously had some training. Not necessarily because of his weapon handling but because of his tactics....His escape route is pre-planned, He's well concealed prior to he shot and he leaves no signature.

If the theory of the sniper being concealed in a van and is being assisted by a spotter, the sniper is not a crazed criminal but moves into the realm of a terrorist. Is it Al Queda? We won't know the definitive answer to this until they leave some type of calling card.

But answer this question....How many local murders (even spectacular ones like this), make it to the Office of the President for regular briefings.....There's smoke here but the fire is still concealed.....

I agree with the easy shot, but, I bet a large number of freepers could figure out how to set up a shot and execute a pre-planned escape route. Anyone that watches tv could think of that. I would think that a single, or 02ea nutcases would stay around their local territory, where he knows the traffic patterns, vice a foreign terrorist cell, which, to me would conduct these operations simultaneously, in different locales.
