The Texas Dr., al Hazmi, is the same Doctor the two men who got off of a flight that had made a premature landing in St. Louis on 9/11, and who had then gotten on a train to San Antonio. They were captured with hair dye, false IDs, and boxcutters and a lot of excess cash. There were reports that they had shaved their bodies.
They're currently being held. They had owned newstands in the vicinity of the WTC and so forth. Atta had been seen in their neighborhood and they had had unusual meetings with young arabic males in the summer of 2001 that were noticed by others because normally those suspects had not had company very often. The sudden behavioral change was noticed by neighbors.
Their apartment had been searched after 911 once but the Wall Street Journal searched it after the anthrax cases popped up and found articles on biological warfare and on the Sarin gas attack in Japan.
The story hadn't got much play because the men were reported to be 'Indian.' They were Indian muslims, though, not Hindus.
One man said under questioning the visit was to be for a week, the other said three weeks or something like that- their stories didn't match.
It isn't known if the real Dr. al Hazmi knew his credit cards were being used by the hijackers or not. If not, he was an innocent victim of identity theft- but if he did know then he was a participant in 9/11, and he's probably left the country by now.
That doesn't mean he's safe- they're probably safer IN America than if they leave and get intercepted outside the US.
