There was a story on America's Most Wanted about a shooting in N Atlanta several years ago. The shooter fired from a cap on a pickup. He had bales of pinestraw packed around a firing position, with a small sighting hole to fire out of.

The shooting was about 0900 in the parking lot of a strip mall. Shot a guy stocking an ATM

A quick, cheap shooting blind, use it once and go make another. Could do the same with a stationwagon or minivan.

I'll bet it's someone in a van, shooting from a long distance, then making an inconspicuous getaway.

Chief Moose-Quimby's latest words make it sound like he is intent on arresting the guilty white truck. Talk about profiling......

This could be a copycat shooting, but I was wondering today if yesterday's shooters were going to move on to another location and start the whole thing over again. It could be ME terrorism, or a wackjob like the guy who went around with the pipebombs earlier this year.

The Chief just referred to the Mystery Truck as a "box car" truck. Thanks for the update, Chief......

A few disjointed points to ponder:

1. Near DC. Any muslim embassies near?
2. The .223 is not a high-powered round, fired from anything.
3. What type of bullets? Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) is military type. By law. Goes right through, wounding.
4. Fragment rounds indicate hollow points, or better (Glaser, Magsafe). But if they were pre-fragged, doubtfull recovery.
5. Because the shot to the woman went through, likely cheap, FMJ ammo.
6. Because targets hit, one-shot, training was involved.
7. Any gun guy with intent would choose hollow points or pre-fragged.
8. Conclusion: Shooter is trained, using FMJ, soft points, or similar.
9. Near DC. Any muslim embassies near?

IMHO only.
