CNN just broke in and said that the GOP will not wait to find out the SCONJ decision.

They will bring a petition to Federal Court (eventual destination SCOTUS) on the Voting Rights Act with regard to the 1,800 already mailed absentee ballots in NJ.

He should get creative and make fools of the Democrats for this stunt rather than continuing....

THIS tactic has always been my favorite and, I believe, a Republicans most potent weapon against the Rats.......

...."Lautenberg, there you go again".

Don't despair. New Jersey, for goodness sakes, just flipped off the Torch. And that 'big' lead by Gore was only 7%. Big? Ha! That is soft, with all factors considered. Your state is ready for change. You are in the right place at the right time. Don't forget what that disgusting court did to the boy scouts. This is a good time to remember that. FReegards.....

THE SOLUTION: Every political party other than the Dems, including the Libertarians, Conservatives, Republicans and Greens, should demand that any of their candidates that happen to be trailing in the polls be replaced in the ballots by some other candidate.

I agree...all the other political partys in NJ should pull the same stunt.
Maybe you should start your own thread on this subject.

Right. In order to beat the clock on reprinting the new ballots, I understand according to NJ law, new bids must go out to do the work. Another NJ law will need to be altered.

And if the ballots are not finished in time, and voters can't vote Nov 5th, or some voters being disenfrancised the NJSC will have some explaining to do. Since they made the decision that 51 days rule was not germain in this case and that the real purpose is to allow sufficient time to prepare ballots, any reasonable date can be applied if the ballots can be completed in time. Thats the new law established today by the NJSC.

A real gamble at this time. Many of the absentee voters are no longer at their old addresses. Especially military. I really don't see how they can resend absentee ballots to military and get them back in time.

A big problem here is that, if the absentee ballots will not make a difference in a race, they need not be counted. In many states, absentee ballots are not even addressed unless it is a very tight race.

We should start calling Lautenberg the Rosie Ruiz of politics. You remember Rosie, she was the woman who jumped into the Boston Marathon at the end and crossed the finish line without running the race.

I think they (talk redio) reach a lot of decent people!!

I hope so. I tend toward pessimistic optimism when it comes to the general public and the press.

According to Eric Shawn on FNC, the NJSC decision basically says that they're doing this to preserve the two-party system - so both parties have a candidate

That doesn't make sense. Is NJ saying that all races must have opposing candidates? What about the case where an incumbent or a candidate runs unopposed? Will that now be against NJ election laws. That the NJ voters must have a dem and rep in all races? Seems like they have opened up a pandora's box that will come back to haunt them in future elections.

..the soul of NJ needs to be fought over for future battles as well. FReegards....

You got that right! ANY state that has felt the hoof beat of horse ridden by an American Soldier deserves to be fought for and won!

The above link shows the way states regard the Federal deadline of absentee ballots. Georgia is scrambling to get the ballots out as quickly as possible for fear of a Federal lawsuit. They had late runoffs. But hey. Excuses don't cut it. They need to get those ballots out or else. New Jersey, on the other hand, is deliberately violating the law, just for the heck of it, even ignoring its own law at the same time. This nonsense can be dealt with effectively. One thing Ashcroft needs to do is to give them a strong letter of reprimand, along with a stiff warning that the deadline is too tight, and that it is disgraceful for a state supreme court to deliberately violate voth Federal and State law for partizan purposes.
30 days is cutting it too close. So they are really in a pickle. They are actually at Ashcroft's mercy right now.

Precisely. Humor is remembered in the ballot booth.

This is one of those days that it is great to have FR around, we can cover what all 3 networks are saying at one time easily!

If you mean the dialects of the troika, you got it. If you mean simply what's being said, any one source simply repeats what the others blathers out.

I think we should double/triple-check the other states where elections are close. Check for chances for fraud, put observers in all the polling places, send $$$$ to those who need help. The Dems will most likely try to cheat in EVERY state in the USA---Bigtime. They are WORSE than terrorists because they actually call themselves Americans when they stand for no American beliefs.

Doesn't need to be a bloody war. If the majority of the people of the US would refuse to file a 1040 to the IRS, that would get their attention in a hurry. If the State and Federal Judicial can twist and change the law, then we as citizens can do the same. Ultimately, it is we the people, who govern, so to hell with the Govt.

The Federal Government and States are not allowed to use any tax money that is not verified by the filing of a 1040 form.

Of course they can't put us all in jail, but they can put liens against our properties, but would they, if half of the tax paying citizens stood together? I think not.

I agree that Forrester could win, but if L'berg pulls the race to being fairly close, then the rats will be able to steal the election, like Gore almost did. This is the real reason they must get Torch off the ballot. So they can run someone who can pull the race into a tighter contest. This is the only way ballot stuffing works. A close race.

And you think these schemes are making the DNC more popular in New Jersey?

Sadly I would agree they are. The puppeteering is masterfully done in the name of "count all the votes." That resounds real well because of the 2000 standoff in Florida. The SCOTUS finally blew the whistle on that game. They should and probably will blow it again in this one.

What a shameless bunch of low-lifes, I can't believe they're doing this again. Last election, when Gore pulled this crap, one of the civilians I worked with (a Nam vet who got shot at a lot) had to pull a few of our officers aside and tell them to calm down. They were saying stuff out loud about Clinton/Gore that could have gotten them landed in jail. I was kinda proud of them, heh, heh.

"THE TIME TO TIE UP THE NEW BALLOT REPLACING SCHEME OF THE SCONJ IS NOW!!!! The SCONJ might learn that there is a reason for deadlines passed by legislatures, AND THAT THE COURTS AREN'T SUPERLEGISLATURES

Precisely, This is exactly the lesson the FLSC learned in 2000. Had they adhered to the legislative guidelines, and not changed the rules, which delayed the process they would have had enough time for the contest phase and would probably prevailed in a legitmate recount effort.

With their brilliance, they screwed themselves and Algore's only chance for a valid recount. Ironically, this was pointed out to the FLSC, but hey failed to hear.
