It's very simple:

Hit the Dems for the "bait and switch" from now until the end of the election. Go to SCOTUS out of concern for the military ballots - and remind the people that Lautenberg was a "selected" nominee, not the elected nominee.

That "Torricelli-Lautenberg" machine line is a good one, too. This is simply about beating the Dems around the head and shoulders with their corruption. One of two things will happen:

1. The campaign succeeds, and Forrester is elected.
2. The Dems win, and we can operate under no illusions - therefore we will have to fight as dirty as they fight in order to save our Republic.

But one thing for sure: We need to know how much of the American people will stand for this. I still think there are enough people that will be repulsed by this "bait and switch" tactic that they will use their votes to express their revulsion with that tactic.

I dunno. Pragmatically, I'm not so sure this is a high impact issue outside of NJ. Katherine Harris' snafu(did she really backdate a letter?) gives the Dems the perfect counter to defuse our righteous indignation. Irregardless of the fairness or comparability of the two cases, perception is what matters, and I have yet to see someone easily differentiate the two in a way that can quickly be understood by the average voter. 'Bait and Switch' is a good start, but harping too long on the NJ Supremes may not be very productive. Unanimous bipartisan ruling doesn't help, either.

I still say keep secession open as a long-term option. Dallas would make a great capitol for the Free Republic of America. Share a common defense, NAFTA, and language, but institute a Snowbird and flyover tax to pay for all election-related costs. Never forget!
