This takes away from the Democrats, completely, the angle of having Toricelli resign - and McGreedy replacing him and canceling the election (until next year).
Now there will be an election, no questions asked.
And frankly (pun intended), Lautenberg can be beaten by Forrester.

I've seen him the last few days on TV and I tell you, I'm pretty impressed.
Let the man talk!

What would happen though, now that a decision has been made, and the Republicans have announced their intent to appeal, IF...(big IF I know)....Torricelli were to resign and take the steam out of the Republicans? It would negate the appeal, if McGreavy appts Lautenberg. PLUS, it would save the Dems the cost of having to put up the $$ for the reprint of the ballots.
I'm really trying to think 'nasty and dirty' re: Democrats in order to anticipate.

Ok, so the Demon_rat candidate loses. Then they sue in court and say, "But this election was illegal. We disobeyed the rules and you let us. We need a new election where Torch will run against Strom Thurmond. We will accept the results of that fair, legal, and binding process. Thank you and God bless America."
