Insights from Dick Morris... I think he may have a few points here.

Notice that Daschle was NOT at the Rose Garden today. He is relegated to the peaceniks and Torch melee.

There is some connection between Hillary and the Torch's resignation. I just can't connect-the-dots.

The Kool-Aid drinkers at DU are raging at Gephardt for agreeing to the Iraq resolution. Don't they realize Little Dick was just trying to save what's left of his party's election hopes.

Dick Morris has a good idea. Bush should give a good speech on the war and Homeland security (like a fireside chat) it would be wonderful to hear him and it would irk the hell out of all the Democreeps. The American people would feel like Bush is speaking to them and not to the creeps in Congress. The Democreeps have been on and off TV for the past 3 weeks why shouldn't Bush give one. Also, BS (Barbara Streisand) would be pulling out her hair by her roots.

Great line, wasn't it? And in your brain-trust, you forgot Algore (the Sore-Loserman of all times). They really are just pitiful losers, one and all.

Personally, I do not care if the Democrat party, as presently constituted, collectively slits their wrists and implodes completely. Their only agenda is to regain political power at the expense of what remains of American ideals, as they seem to believe those ideals have no relevancy to themselves. Perhaps, this anti-life context has so pervaded their thinking, that they are willing to handicap themselves so severely they are unable to reach or maintain a position of dominance for very long. They have shown, repeatedly, that they are incapable of carrying out the necessary sacrifices to effectively wage war on an enemy of the United States, and they demonstrate equal incompetence to serve in the simple daily administration of governance.

I love it! The dems are between a rock and a hard place. Choose, now, between your loony left and the moderates. That resolution (a great victory for W) puts Gephardt choosing the moderates. But look what it does to Wellstone. He has to choke and vote for war and watch the loonys stay home or he has to kiss the middle of the road voters goodbye.

This is what comes when a party spends eight years pretending to be something it is not. The Dems have always been hard left. Clinton just pretended otherwise. Sooner or later you can't hide what you are.

Enjoy your vote, Sen. Wellstone.

There is some connection between Hillary and the Torch's resignation. I just can't connect-the-dots.

The only "connect the dots" that I can think of is: Dem true believers and fellow travelers are scared to death that their reliable constituents will stop just continuing to follow their lead into the polls. Seeing a liberal icon like the Torch (and a big defender of Bubba) go down in flames (make that a bonfire) in a Demo-state like NJ would just undermine the abiding faith liberals have in Hillary, Bill and other such icons. Remember Cuomo leaving the primary race in NY. Notice the silence of the liberal media on the failures of other Clinton acolytes in the recent primaries (Reno, Reich -- who am I forgetting?). Those are ALL embarrassments for Billary & Co. So with a major (20 pts.? 25 pts.?) defeat staring them in the face, and the prospect of Demo losses up and down the NJ ballot, all they could do was take a premature departure. In so doing, they deny the voters the RIGHT to fire the Torch the way he should have been fired for all these ethical lapses. And Hillary certainly wouldn't want the precedent (reminder) that Character does Matter in Politics and Governance. People might start looking back at some of those old scandals and asking some uncomfortable questions. Better to force the Torch to depart early.

My question is, why doesn't Dick Morris take the plunge and become a Republican. Surely he doesn't think the Demonrat Party can be saved?

I would love to hear a "Fire-Side-Chat" from President Bush on the upcoming war with Iraq & HomeLand Security.

He would win over even more democrats that are sick of their party's stinking, lying, cheating, treasonous behavior!

...and just before the Nov. elections just to piss L'tl Tommy & Billy off good!

Let us not yet claim the passing of the democrats. There may be no breath, no pulse but, my bet is that if you waive a fistfull of $100 bills under the corpse's nose, it'll spring to life. In Dashol's caase, you'd wave the bills under his bag lady wife's nose.

Never overlook the media. The three non-cable networks scream leftist, anti-Busg, anti-Republican liberal propaganda ebery night. Some people still watch these flaming dinosaurs and son't know any better. Of course, the way things are going, I'll watch Don Rather, as I did on election eve in 1994, in the hopes that he will be a terrified as he was then. But, it ain't over. There are legions of dead and foreign democrats being mobilized to vote and vote and vote, corrupt poll watchers to click back the counters in Republican precincts, and presstitutes willing to make things up to sway voters. IT AIN'T OVER!!!

Notice that Daschle was NOT at the Rose Garden today.

I was wondering about that. When McCain was speaking he praised some House and Senate leaders but, I didn't hear little Tommy Daschole's name.
