I'd be surprised if NJ's rules were that lenient. Which would completely rule out X42. I don't think this matters. The deadline for putting a different name on the ballot has passed. SO, they're going to try to say that votes for Torricelli will really be votes for whomever the Dem gov decides to appoint.

(He couldn't appoint a resident of North Dakota, for example.) Which totally rules out the horrifying concepting of Sen. Bill Clinton.
