That is NOT what the Democrats in New Jersey are saying; they are saying that if Torch resigns, the governor can call an election in ONE YEAR and the new candidate who "filled" Torch's seat would run as an incumbant.
I'm just repeating what they've been saying on TV.

What's your take on this? First, what are the odds the Dems can get someone new on the ballot. Second, what are the odds Lautenberg, or another non-Bradley Dem, can beat Forrester?
My own guess is that this Senate seat is now 50/50. I will give the Dems a 75% chance in both the lawsuit and the election. It appears I was just wrong about Torricelli's chances of winning had he decided to keep running.
