Hedgecock Just Said Talent Has Pulled Ahead of Carnahan. Any evidence?
Rush Limbaugh Show | 9/27/2002 | LS

Roger Hedgecock, subbing for Rush, just said that he had a poll showing Talent was not ahead of the "Widder Carnahan" in Missouri---which, in his opinion, is why the Dems are getting frantic. But he didn't give a source. Anyone have any info on this phantom poll?

Talent leading Carnahan 46% to 43%.

Those numbers are from a June poll. They are outdated. From the link you posted:

Talent’s record has appealed to voters. A recent American Viewpoint poll, conducted 6/24-26/02, shows Talent leading Carnahan 46% to 43%.

NR Online reported yesterday that Talent's internal tracking polls indicate a consistent 6-7% lead.

Just be cautious about those numbers... we don't know when those polls were conducted. The NRO article was published on September 23, so those internal poll numbers could well be two weeks old or more by now. Zogby's numbers were released on Sunday, so his are the most recent. Not saying he's right... just that his are the newest.

Look for HST to spin out of his grave on Nov. 5 just for a minute to vote for the "Widder." If not, someone else will surely come back to earth for a short while to vote Democrat in MO.

I understand that the MO Democrat governor, Bob Holden, will refuse to certify a Talent victory, if it occurs, until Jan. 3, 2003; therefore, the "widder" keeps the seat illegally for an extra two months.

It is my understanding that the "Truman" Democrats stole MO for JFK in 1960, but Nixon was too timid to put up much opposition amid such huge Democratic control in the state. I think much of the fraud was in minority sections of St. Louis and Kansas City.

Heston's faculties are now being challenged, as he has endorsed the liberal governor of AL for reelection.

I can see this happening here in MO. National security implications and that freaky-looking Holden playing games, yeah, I can see it happening. Just to give Dashole more gamesmanship time in DC.

That's exactly why I was asking what Hedgecock's source was, as I'm not sure how to evaluate "internal polling." However, some of us here (me included) poo-poohed Bush's "internal polling" that had the race neck and neck, choosing to believe the public polls that had a 4-point lead or even POA with its 6-7 point lead. Won't get fooled again. So an internal poll may in fact be more accurate.

Yep, that's the word. So I'm counting on Holden doing just that.

Just one more reason to call him "One Term Bob".

It'd be nice to get a couple of hundred thousand people to camp out around his house if he tries this.

How's the new gig going?
