Is anybody reminding Iowa voters of Harkin's "pile of dung" comment about the Clinton impeachment?

West Des Moines lawyer David Wiggins said the campaign staff member who leaked the tape and transcript of the Sept. 3 meeting to a newspaper reporter has resigned. Wiggins added that other Harkin staffers have retained lawyers, making his work more difficult.

"I have experienced problems in getting the facts," Wiggins' said in a prepared statement, as "individuals with knowledge hired lawyers and those lawyers have not consented to let me talk to them."

LOFL!!!
Good luck, pal!
Gee, think he'll figure out that Democrats are lying scumbags? Hahahaha...!

I wonder why that Torricelli operative would not be working for Torricelli. However badly Harkin may now be hurt, Torricelli is still, I think, even more vulnerable. And I can't think of a time in recent months where that has not been true. So, does this mean the Dems have given up on Torricelli as a lost cause?

Dems have not given up on Torricelli, but this means that they now how to spread even more limited resources on a wider range of races, and the RATS are going to start in-fighting over limited cash. They had counted on Harkin cruising to a fairly easy win.

Competing for $$$ - a widening net: IA, MN, SD, NJ, MO, GA, LA plus challengers in NH, TX, AR, CO and elsewhere.

Operatives (whores) go where the money is. Certain slimy characters show up when there's dirty work to be done.

I understand a really slimy character has shown up to 'help' Irksome Bowels against Liddy Dole.

Oh, Lord, so do I. I live in Iowa, and know Harkin to be a truly vicious, evil, arrogant man. But Ganske is not a terribly strong candidate, IMHO, Harkin and his supports are totally unscrupulous, and I won't be holding my breath.

At the start of Clinton's impeachment trial in the Senate, in Jan. 1999, Harkin called the House case a "pile of dung."

Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin announced Thursday night that his re-election campaign had hired a lawyer to investigate what the attorney considered the legal but "unacceptable" conduct of Harkin's campaign staff.

This, in a nutshell, is the Democrat mantra.

If it isn't illegal, then it's acceptable. If a prosecutor says "not enough evidence to convict," then it means "totally vindicated."

The Democrats couldn't afford to let Torricelli go down before the election. Perhaps they can let Harkin go aftwerwards, when they lose the Senate. Then they can point to Harkin and say "See? We do care about ethics."

Naaaaaahhh!!!

I'm afraid that no matter how much Harkin is exposedl that the people of IA will reelect him. I don't think he has ever lost an election, has he? He is as popular up there as John Breaux is in LA or Dianne Feinstein in CA.

"I have reviewed the transcript of that meeting, and it is clear that it is neither private nor confidential but simply a fund-raiser, and in that situation it certainly would not be a crime to record the meeting," Wiggins said.

If no crime was committed, why have the persons involved retained lawyers for this matter?

I just bet there was a mole!Try Harkin finds somebody in his party who's willing to be a sacrifice so they can lead suspicion away from him.

Go tell that to Trafficant as he rots in his prison cell.

And may a few more rot beside him.

Some people have tried to portray Trafficant as a "victim", a victim of what, I do not know, but he is exactly where a piece of liberal dimbulbrat pond scum should be.

Good riddance to him, and any like him.

Thanks for posting this -- just yesterday I read that it was someone from Ganske that didn't like what Ganske said which I didn't buy for a moment.

Right on Harkin's doorstep where the buck should stop!

Keep this front and center in Iowa. Write your papers, call the radio, make signs but let the people of Iowa keep being reminded of how Harkin won't take responsibility!

How old are you? My oldest grandchild is 4 and has only recently been granted computer privledges.

Does you Granny vote Republican? Make sure she gets an absentee ballot if there is a chance inclement weather will keep her from the polls.
