High tech was the future and those who did not get the right education deserves to be replaced by lower cost foreign workers. THAT IS THE NEW GLOBAL ECONOMY DUMB BLUE COLLAR MAN. Now the foreign workers learn how to do high tech work. Now the white collar high tech American worker is getting it in the kisser. There was a lot of sneering at the blue collar types by the white collar types when the blue collar types were losing their jobs and homes. Home foreclosures under Clinton were at very high levels but those who didn't see their own fates were headed in the same direction thought those without college degrees deserved what they got.

So true. I remember when they were talking about sending all the jobs south. When someone asked what would Americans do for jobs, their answer was we would become the high-tech leader of the world and everyone should go to college and learn about computers. I wondered at the time if those people actually thought the rest of the world was so stupid they couldn't learn 'high-tech'. They knew better, but they made their big dough from all of it and just don't care.

When everyone thought blue collar workers shouldn't make a decent living and was gloating about the demise of the unions, they didn't realize union or not, those middle class Americans were paying taxes and helping to keep this nation together. Now I am not defending the unions, so don't jump. But it is going to be really fun to watch the look on those 'bust the unioners - bring in illegals" when these illegals become union members and that will happen and soon.

Dumb Blue Collar!

How about those dumb TShirt workers of NYC, Boston, SF,LA etc. who are garbage collectors? Many are making 60-80K per year with no fear of being layed off or fired. These folks are set for life, like Firemen and Policemen, these folks never lose their jobs. Primarily because their customer base always increase every year.

To hell with a college degree or high tech positions, become a plumber, bricklayer, policeman or fireman, or look for a job in government.
