Saddam is warned: We'd nuke Baghdad

Sounds good to me. Lets take out the Saudis with neutrons while we're at it.

Do you think this really matters to Saddam? I think that he thinks that if he can't lead, he no longer has a purpose and might as well go out in style, so to speak.

I thought I heard Powell say that the US decision in Gulf War I was to respond to any WMD attack by destroying nearby dams and putting Bagdad under three feet of water?

So a guy walks into a bar and sees President Bush and Colin Powell talking.
He walks up and says, "What are you guys talking about?"
President Bush says, "We're planning to start a war and we are going to kill several million Iraqis and one blond with big breasts."
"Why kill the blonde with big breasts?" the guy asks.

President Bush turns to Powell and says, "See, Colin! I told you no one would care about killing several million Iraqis!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baghdad remembered a thousand years from now only as a glowing crater in the middle of a desert, which slowly fills and becomes a radioactive lake, as the Tigris and Euphrates rivers drain into and fill the basin. What a legacy.

Saddam was privately warned his capital would be obliterated if he used weapons of mass destruction

Just Baghdad? Great, now if Saddam has any designs on using WMD, we now know exactly where he won't be when they're unleashed. We should have at least a few nuke warheads designated for Baghdad and one each for the 10 or so next largest cities in Iraq.

FYI, Interesting tidbit, IMO

The chilling warning to Iraq was revealed by former Tory Premier John Major, who led Britain in the 1991 Gulf War.

During that conflict, allied forces were armed with “battlefield” nuclear weapons and prepared to use them in a counter attack, he said.

Saddam was privately warned his capital would be obliterated if he used weapons of mass destruction against allied troops or Middle East targets — including Israel.

And senior security sources last night confirmed Saddam has been warned AGAIN of the consequences if he breaks the ban on using terror weapons.

Saddam doesn't care if Baghdad is nuked. He cares only about his place in Arab history.

The job of finding them would be nigh on impossible.

Unless you occupied them for a hundred years. But if that's the way it's got to be, so be it. To the victor goes the spoils.

It seems like not much has changed in thousands of years. The barbarians are still out there, trying to pillage the city-state, only now the city-state is much larger and richer and more tempting a prize than ever. And the only way to save the civilization within the city walls is to annihilate the barbarians and rule their descendents through the ages with an iron fist, until the barbarian in them somehow becomes nomadic trader and the larger vision of conquest they hold is lost to myth.

That ought to hold them back for another thousand years or so. By then we'll have made it to the stars.

Do whatever is necessary. To the victor goes the oils.

Unfortunately members of the Bush 41 adminstration already told the world that it was all a bluff the last time and we never had any intention of using nukes under any circumstances. So there's scant chance Saddam will believe them this time.

I want to get rid of Saddam but I would rather not nuke Baghdad!

Baghdad area is full of history of Man's early history, and I would hate to lose that.

Maybe we could leave a trail of Vigara pills for him to follow leading outside of Baghdad, far enough away, then we can nuke him!

AMERICA will NUKE Baghdad... was revealed by former Tory Premier John Major, who led Britain in the 1991 Gulf War."

Oh Great. Just what we needed. A hot-head British politician threatening the use of US weapons.

The problem with this threat is that Saddam will not use the weapons, himself. He will pass them on to nebulous terrorist organizations, who represent Islam, not any one country with a return address.

I have a feeling this 'war' is not going to be much of a war... we are going to go in with enough troops to surround and catch (or kill) their insane leader and then out...

I think the Iraqi's not anywhere near Saddamn will be going in the opposite direction instead of coming to his aid.

No need to invade. Just nuke him if he ever attacks us. Isn't that more simple?

If we invade, he will use WMD's. Trust me, he has nothing to lose.
