Man executed for slaying of 80-year-old Dallas woman

HUNTSVILLE - A convict with a history of assaults was executed Tuesday for raping and fatally beating and slashing an 80-year-old Dallas woman during an attack at her home more than 13 years ago.

Jessie Joe Patrick was on parole when evidence showed that he crawled through a window and killed Nina Rutherford Redd, who lived alone a few houses away from him.

Patrick, 44, was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m. CDT, seven minutes after the lethal dose began.

He declined to make a final statement, but smiled and nodded to his wife, brother and other relatives as they entered the chamber.

His wife, Hester Patrick, repeatedly said, "I love you."

As he gasped and sputtered when the drugs began taking effect, his wife began wailing, and at one point she cried out: "Bastards!"

Then in the moments after her husband lost consciousness and before being examined by a physician who pronounced him dead, Hester Patrick bitterly denounced the death penalty and criminal justice system.

"I hope you all are satisfied now," she said. "You should be ashamed of yourselves."

Oh, they will--'every life is precious.' Every life, that is, except the victim's, who is dead and no longer matters anyway (in their minds).

I hope you all are satisfied now . . .

Well, yes, ma'am . . . As a matter of fact, we are.

"I hope you all are satisfied now," she said.

Yep.

"You should be ashamed of yourselves."

Nope.

" As he gasped and sputtered when the drugs began taking effect, his wife began wailing, and at one point she cried out: "Bastards!" "

Who cares? The 13 years should be cut to 8 max, now that the DNA and other high-tech innovations are being brought to bear.

Either release 'em or hang 'em high.

Enough of the courtroom ballets at the expense of the courts and the taxpayers, especially in the light of what has been exposed about Steven Feldman, the defense attorney for David Westerfield, who shall die for the abduction and murder of his 7-year-old neighbor, Danielle van Dam.

It has been shown that Feldman knew the whereabouts of Danielle van Dam before the trial and was negotiating a deal for Westerfield.

Attorneys of Feldman's ilk are the reason this country's court systems stink to high hell. Buzz Aldrin's self-defense, on the other hand is a start in the right direction.

Knocking more than just a few of the liberal/socialist assholes on their asses, regardless of how loud they scream "First Amendment", is just what is needed. Fifty bucks is a cheap price to maintain dignity and Constitutional rights.

Hey, Buddy, what is your liberty worth these days? Is $50 to $100 bucks too much over a lifetime...?

"I hope you all are satisfied now"

I'm feeling fairly satisfied. I'd feel a lot more satisfied if they would go back to publicly hanging murderers in the couthouse square.

Liberals love to argue that the death penalty is not a deterrent. It sure as hell has deterred this S.O.B. from ever killing again.

I like the way you think! Problem out here is that the square is a mall. Maybe we California types can improvise a bit: Use the college campus lawns esp. Bezerkeley's lawn.

Almost, Hester. I'd be more satisfied if it hadn't taken 13 long years to get it done. That's OK though, at least it got done.

Oh, by the way, Hester, how does it feel to have your husband go after an 80 year old woman for his sex? What's your problem?

I don't believe this is true. He knew that WESTERFIELD knew where her body was,but he did NOT know this himself.

Do you think parsing words in your manner is constructive?

Then you are a fool or illiterate. It is on paper in the prosecutor's office and it will be publicized now that it is known.

Why would you disbelieve the truth, unless you are another like the ilk of Westerfield?

The world is filled with those who believe in "Good" and those who believe in "Evil", and I don't for a moment mean the Biblical sense, for that is far too easy.

You may count on this though, those of you who defend or act in these sick bastards' in any form are going down.

This hasn't anything to do with any religion, it has to do with the sickness and cancer of the will that has mushroomed over the country.

The rest of the world is merely a reflection of the U.S., and that reflection has come about in a manner that should scare the shit out of every concrete statue and monument from, the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Any normal Bell Curve is reflective of the "Civilized World", and it is now very skewed towards the stupidity and ignorance of the real world for not remembering the past...

"Parsing words"? Was that your "big word for the day"? If so,you failed to learn what it means. I stated FACT.

Then you are a fool or illiterate.

You are the one who doesn't know what "parsing" means.

It is on paper in the prosecutor's office and it will be publicized now that it is known.

By "it",I am assuming you mean the negoiations for the plea bargain? If made public, they will surely show Westerfield knew where her body was before it was found,NOT his lawyer.

Why would you disbelieve the truth, unless you are another like the ilk of Westerfield?

Special Education classes let out early today?

You may count on this though, those of you who defend or act in these sick bastards' in any form are going down.

Ok,cretin. Find ANY post I have EVER made defending Westerfield, and quote it to us here. Go back to the first thread here on FR about this case, and see where the Bush-Bots had me banned for argueing with them and saying he was guilty.

Any normal Bell Curve is reflective of the "Civilized World", and it is now very skewed towards the stupidity and ignorance of the real world for not remembering the past...

I would think you would be one of the last people defending the Bell Curve.

Goodness, sneakypete, Cretin, and intelligence all in the same paragraph!

"Cretin" is the fad-word of the day, is it not, for it has been used by so many of late.

What is your point, besides attempting to belittle my post, which is an attempt to capture the trailing smoke from the nostrils of a flying dragon.

Where would you put this fool on the Bell Curve?

And this comment from you, " I would think you would be one of the last people defending the Bell Curve."

To what does this refer? Are you knowledgeable in the realm of basic probabilities and statistics, or maybe linear regression just for starts.

The difference between "screwed" and "skewed" is now very obvious to most of the FR subscribers, and I do know the difference on a normal bell curve where the skewed propensities of psychologically damaged posters lies.

Are you questioning my reference to the traditional Bell Curve, the Negroid Bell Curve, or the fact that the sicko Feldman, Westerfield's best friend for several months knew that the girl was dead and buried, and making overtures to the Prosecution for a deal to show the prosecution team the "exact" whereabouts of the child's naked and brutalized body?

The sickness and depravity of this case is not a problem with you? You want to parse the terminology that only Westerfield knew and the attorney did not know from interrogatives with the client (and in case some shooter killed Westerfield) that the defense would not have to reveal the whereabouts of the dead child or the body parts?

What planetary representative would argue against the finding of a dead child?

What is your point,

The point should be obvious. The lawyer didn't murder the little girl, and he didn't know where her body was. His client DID murder her,and the lawyer was doing his job by trying to negoiate a deal with the DA. It's even likely the lawyer was the one who talked Westerfield into agreeing to a plea bargain.

Where would you put this fool on the Bell Curve?

Evil has nothing to do with intelligence.

and I do know the difference on a normal bell curve where the skewed propensities of psychologically damaged posters lies.

I have no doubt you are as familiar with this as you are, say, your own face.

Are you questioning my reference to the traditional Bell Curve, the Negroid Bell Curve,

Blacks have their own Bell Curve? That's news to me.

or the fact that the sicko Feldman, Westerfield's best friend for several months knew that the girl was dead and buried,

Feldman was/is Westerfield's lawyer, not his best friend, and the girl had not been buried.Try to pay attention.

and making overtures to the Prosecution for a deal to show the prosecution team the "exact" whereabouts of the child's naked and brutalized body?

He was negoiating on BEHALF of his client. It would have been his CLIENT who would have been showing the police where the little girl's body lay. He was merely doing his job.
