The special envoy was Scott Ritter.

One word: DEBKA.

There's another word, but I'd get banned.

Ah, DEBKA! Why do people continue posting that here? Why not start some threads on alien abductions or the hollow earth if we're going to keep putting DEBKA reports up here?

Debka later confirmed that Bat Boy has a liver condition that has caused him to balloon to 750 lbs, making it impossible for him to leave his cave.
Additionally, in the roles of his fat, one pilgrim has noticed the outline of the face of St. Pius. Lines snake for miles down Bat Boy's mountain, with the sick and infirmed seeking healing.
Mistress Futura has labeled this an end-vision of the coming apocalypse.

I find this a little too much to believe. But even if it was true, it doesn't change what needs to be done. Bag the Big Bagdad Wolf!

Washington acted after discovering that Iraq had smuggled two or three nuclear devices at least into the United States for detonation by sleeper cells planted by Iraqi intelligence. Were this fact Iraq would ALREADY be the smoking land of craters and brimstone.

There is no "Ground Zero",......yet! These idiots in the media love to call the blasted foundation of the World Trade Centers, Ground Zero. It isn't a Ground Zero. That term is reserved for the ground area directly below the aerial detonation of a nuclear bomb, or the land detonation point of a nuclear device.
So New York is NOT Ground Zero. But there soon will be a Ground Zero in the United States, perhaps several, which will annihilate several major cities in the United States. The most likely scenario will be the land-based detonation of a "dirty" nuclear device, thereby rendering the affected city and surrounding land mass uninhabitable for thousands of years.
I can only hope that these inevitable tragedies will take the vast majority of politically-correct, bleeding heart Liberals who will bear the ultimate responsibility for the downfall of this once great nation. Let us hope that Tom "Neville Chamberlin" Daschwipe and Ground Zero are one and the same. If I have to die, I want to make damn sure that Traitor goes too!
To: Doc Savage
In order to "annihilate" a city, they'd have to set off a fusion bomb, not the simplistic Hiroshima-style uranium bombs that they are far more likely to have. And both Hiroshima and Nagasaki are still on the map.

Without giving a scintilla of credence to the DEBKA report let us examine the plausibility of this situation. If Saddam had three buclear devises he would explode at least one as use at least one as an ace in the hole deterent. If he had three in the USA then he would be effectively holding three American cities hostage to his survival.
I for one doubt his ability to bide his time with such an advantage. Two targets would be almost certain NYC and DC

What happened to that "supergun" that Saddam was working on - you know the one that can lob a shell a few hundred miles. What does Mistress Debka-Futura have to say about it?
To: Doc Savage; mvpel
A dirty bomb would certainly not render an entire city and surrounding land mass uninhabitable for thousands of years.
It would dirty up a few blocks, depending on the size of the conventional explosive and the wind.
It would still be cause to level a few cities in the mideast though.

Didn't DEBKA report that aliens were used to smuggle the bombs in? Or was it a chupacabra?

Could this report be true? For our sake and the world's, I hope it's just a bunch of debka.

I'm thinking this would be a little like going bear-hunting with a willow switch. Using it is a really, really, really bad idea...
