As UPIs James Robbins wrote, The Era of Osama lasted about an hour and half or so, from the time the first plane hit the tower to the moment the General Militia of Flight 93 reported for duty. Man, I wish I could write like that. BTT.
Self-index bump.

Thanks, King of Ping! Glad I didn't miss this. I loved this part...
Nations do not change in a day. The day-everything-changed myth was a convenience. It enabled the media, for example, to explain why the guy theyd dismissed as an idiot for the last year seemed to be handling things okay. If this was the day that changed America, then it must have changed him, too: hed been transformed; hes grown in office. (This narrative has now been discarded: the Bush dummy jokes are back, the cartoonists have re-shrunk him in office, drawing him once more as a small preppy schoolboy way too teeny for the Oval Office chair.) Bush, of course, was unchanged. He reacted to 11 September just as anyone whod paid him any heed since 1999 would have expected him to. His view of the world was reinforced by 9/11, not shattered.

No, the UK will be first. The new minister of Immigration and Integration, Nawijn (LPF) started to kick out illigals, he wants to kick out radical imams and criminal asylumseekers, even take away the Dutch nationality from immigrant criminals and deport them!

FWIW, I am pretty sure he is. He has been uncontested at Numero Uno on my list for some time now. He is a brilliant writer.

think of the symbolism: the shattered façade, smoke billowing from a pile of rubble on Pennsylvania Avenue, just like the money shot in Independence Day. Those delirious Palestinians and Danes and Montrealers would have danced all night. Thanks for the ping, Pokey.

More than 500 Sailors and Marines assemble on the flight deck of the USS Belleau Wood Friday Sept. 6, 2002 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States by spelling out the now famous quote from Mr. Todd Beamer, Lets Roll. Beamer was one of the heroic passengers on United Flight 93, which crashed in a western Pennsylvania field after he and several other passengers attempted to regain control of the plane from terrorist hijackers. Many believe theterrorists were heading for Washington, D.C. Currently deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the 40,000-ton amphibious assault ship is the lead element of a three-ship Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG). The ship carries a crew of 1,000 Sailors and more than 1,300 Marines of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. (AP Photo/ U.S. Navy photo by Chief Photographers Mate Steven L. Cooke.)
