If this had happened to someone who wasn't gay I suspect the outcome wouldn't be like this.
In this Orwellian Hate Crime world it pays to be gay.

The school has an obligation to prevent "beatings" on school property during school time. As long as he wasn't physicaly provoking anyone and the school failed to act to protect him while he was on thier property during the day, I can see validity in this judgement. I would say the same thing for any student that faced this kind of harassment for whatever reason. Administrators need to step in if someone is being bullied and physicaly beaten during school

It doesn't pay to be stupid. If you're responsible for an enterprise and you're notified about a problem and you fail to exercise due diligence, you're ph_cked.

And in the world of public schools, if you want to commit criminal assault repeatedly and get off scot-free every time, it pays to be a sexually insecure redneck.

... If this had happened to someone who wasn't gay ...But it has ... to girls, to others getting beat up and harassed for all sorts of reasons ... and they've won rewards also. The school district handled this badly.
Who pays ? Those who perform the harassment ? Noooooo, not them. Everyone else gets to pay because of the wrong actions of a few.

There is a huge cicular prblem here. The school has been sued for tha actions of its students which are hard to control. I don't know what a school can do to make its students like and accept gays. (Reno ani't San Fransisco)I suspect that no matter what this school did, they'd still have been sued. There are only 2 responses in the eyes of the schools; 1. Force their students to accept gays or 2. Give the students homosexual indoctrination.

This is a settlement, not a jury decision. 'twould appear the folks who run things there felt that the allegedly homosexual student wouldn't win if this went all the way to court so they settled.
Always remember, each and every individual who administers a school or a school district is a former member of the National Education Association (NEA), or an equivalent thereof, and it is part of the NEA agenda to make homosexuality acceptable in the public schools. This is just one more step along the way.

"Gay rights" ping...
I am sorry if I am bombarding you with pings but when I see a good story I don't know how else to circulate it..... let me know if it's too much or if you aren't interested.

Gee, I was regularly beaten by the Guidos at my elementary school. Nobody ever gave ME 500K. All my mother said was "boys will be boys."
We need to stop ALL assaults on school grounds, my friends. If my classmates still did that sort of thing as grownups, they would be in jail right now.
The ironic thing was that many of the kids at my school were the children of cops.

... a Federal court ruling which, for the first time, established that gay and lesbian students have a constitutional right to discuss their sexual orientation in school settings.compared with the vicious intolerance shown for the expression of normal viewpoints on this sick, disgusting, perversion.

"stop acting like a fag" and keep his sexual orientation quiet."
Sound advice.
