I'll try to post a satellite image from the site. It would not post with the article.

What I like about your posts Blam is that they are articles that I would have no chance of seeing otherwise.
Keep up the good work.

"This could be the big one, Blam!" I don't think so. IMO, it didn't float there and 15,500 feet would be (almost) undoable to haul that much wood, supplies and etc up there.

Just a thought .... send someone up there in person to take a look at the site or is Turkey keeping people from it ?

I guess you know, but it is rarely mentioned, this is the same area occupied by the
Lost Tribes of Israel as part of the
Northern Kingdom evacuation by the Assyrians ~722 BC. It is from all through here they exploded into history as
The CELTS ~610 BC and dispersed to the west and northwest to become the dominant population force in Europe and America today.
While I don't know of any links between Noah and the Celts (except of course their blood link via Shem) which would explain their both being posted to this God-forsaken land, it does make for fascinating contemplation.

bump for some interesting reading

"While I don't know of any links between Noah and the Celts (except of course their blood link via Shem) which would explain their both being posted to this God-forsaken land, it does make for fascinating contemplation." Agreed. What date are you assuming for the flood?
Ryan & Pitman, Noah's Flood, propose that Noah's flood was in fact the Black Sea flood that occurred in about 5,600BC. (Then, of course, we have those tales from Gilgamesh's time to deal with)

I really don't have a date I feel strongly enough about to defend. I'll defer to you on this one, and feel comfortable with whatever you finally come up with. {ggg}. As long you continue looking, your going to find it.

Thanks for the ping. I am quite familiar with the IKONOS and the pics it took. :-)

Aw, shucks folks {blush}

I still have to say that was a GREAT date (and occurance) to give some proto-Celts a cover to escape Egypt (by sea). No problem with that one at all.
