I understand the process very well
There are a lot of posters here who want to sit in their living rooms drinking beer and eating pretzels and being entertained by watching news clips of cruise missles etc etc zeroing in on Iraq
Like a big Nitendo game and then jump on Free Republic with some great remark

Enlisting would put them up where they can see first hand

People with relatives in this battle aren't so glib about predicting war dates etc

If saddam is over thrown I think they will feel cheated out of their entertainment

UncBob - it sounds like you might have a relative in the military right now. A lot of us Freepers do also. Motives of those on this thread may vary - but I personally don't think entertainment is one of those motives.
