This guy sounds good to me. My Congressman Tom Davis has never met a liberal policy position that he didn't like. However as a member of the Fairfax County Republican Committee, I signed a pledge that I would note vote for anyone other than Republicans. Accordingly, my most likely course of action is to leave my vote for House of Reps blank on election day.

You sound pretty good yourself. You keep your promises, which is more than you can say about your Congressman. He has taken the oath of office four times now, in which he swore before his fellow citizens and God to preserve and defend the Constitution against all foreign and domestic enemies, without mental reservation or purpose of evasion--yet he routinely votes for bills with not the remotest grounding in Article 1 Section 8.
I used to be a Republican. The RNC still sends solicitation letters to me. In fact, I consider myself a better Republican than most who now wear only the label: I believe in limited, constitutional government and support the pro-life and pro-Second Amendment planks in the Republican platform, and not just with lip-service.
I admire your principled stand but don't think any reasonable person could think you had broken your word by voting for someone who could be described as a paleo-Republican.
