The same could be said for teachers in public and private education. Homeschooling is a calling. If you're not 'called', you shouldn't be doing it.

that is very true, but hopefully if one is employed as a teacher there is a review process and some accountability as to your failings as a teacher (more so in private ed. than public, i realize) but as a parent, who is overseeing the wackos and stupid people who are homeschooling their kids?
