Clinton can't hold a candle to the Torch [Toricelli] by Paul Mulshine

Some of Bob Torricelli's critics have taken to describing the senator's recent pattern of slipperiness and evasion as "Clintonesque."

They do not give him enough credit. As perhaps New Jersey's leading booster, I want to proudly proclaim that our guy perfected this sort of thing long before that rube from Arkansas. Torricelli is not Clintonesque. Bill Clinton was Torricelliesque.

How many Canadians has the Torch killed?

Is that a trick question? Should I answer "not nearly enough" just to fan the flamers? ;)

Nah, I like Canadians. I think everybody should own one.

The Targum is referenced. But...Was it a Targum or was it a Mugrat? Only an alum could differentiate the differrence.

A Rutgers alum '65, I had the distinction of being guided by the one Rutgers Dean of Men who should have petitioned for a name change. Would you believe Dr. Cornelius B. Boocock? Wakka! Wakka!

Funny (and disgusting), but...

...this IS the Peoples Republic of New Jersey -- which means The Torch will probably win in November anyway.

Jersey sucks!

A great article in many ways. [Saved it to hard drive.] But to say that Clinton can't hold a candle to anyone is to pay a price. Clinton has blood on his hands. The Tainted Blood Scandal for starters [Thousands of Canadians infected with Arkansas prison blood]. Waco for another, in which four of his body guards died, not to mention all the men, women, and children. Then we must look at nuclear level treason in exchange for campaign cash. The Torch is just a typical corrupt politician. I'm glad he is losing. But comparing him with the Big Creep is like saying there's nothing unusual about the death of Betty Curry's brother.

I guess that this coverup of the Torch's would be equal to 1/900th of the importance of the 900 FBI files? No, not even that.

Oh, I don't know about that. For starters, you can lay some of the blame for 9-11 at his feet. The so-called "Torricelli Principle" limiting who intelligence gathering agencies could use for sources placed crippling limits on the way information was gathered.

I'll give you that. And it's well worth noting. Some blood is on his hands. But the Torch did not kill thousands just to help a friend make money. He did not pardon FALN bomb terrorists to help his wife get elected. The Torch is obviously more concerned about his public image, which might be the only difference. But that difference is crucial.
