...or the guy who pitches the CD-ROM's that claim to teach you how to use Windows, and work "just like a VCR."

That guy cracks me up. He is hawking something called "The Video Professor" but he only says the words twice in the entire damnned commercial. The rest of the time he says, "would you please try my product"...."millions have used my product"...."my product works just like a VCR."

For Pete's sake! I'm no marketing genius, but it's a good idea to say the actual name of your "product" as much as possible....(and, yes, I know, that me actually knowing the name of the Video Professor defeats my whole argument, but I only remember because I was amazed at how often he said "my product.")

Well, I've seen the damned thing approximately 60,000 times and I don't remember the name of it, so I guess that proves your point. :)

I read somewhere that they sell those things for over 30 dollars a pop. That's after your "free" first CD, which costs $6.50.

Your impression of that commercial is the same as mine. "My product" "I'm being stopped in the street" "Please try my product" "It's just like a VCR" "Free...for only $6.95 shipping" "Why am I giving you this for free? Because I know you'll tell others about my product."

He just wants you to try his product because then you'll come to him for all your computer learning needs. Won't you try his product?
