RE: Mayes. As obnoxious as this kind of advertising is, it's effective. I've noticed most of the people posting to complain about Mayes cite the names of the products he's pitching, and that's the point: product identification.

Remember those absolutely disgusting "Please don't squeeze the (blank)" commercials, or the pre-laundry treatment product that drove us all nuts with "(Blank) it out?" We may not remember the commericials now, since they've toned them down, but we remember the product names. (In my case I remember them so well I've vowed never, ever to buy one of them, but unlike most of the buying public I'm the vindictive sort).

True (Charmin, Shout) But sometimes I wonder who their target audience is.

For example, Carrot Top and the Dell dude. What are they really trying to say. "Look at me. I'm a dork. I use this product. Your a dork. Use my product."

At least that's the way it makes me feel so I wont use that product at all even though I recognize it.
