[history]
George W. Bush has a reputation as something of a "doofus boy" on the stump. He smirks. His eyes shift. He'll drape himself over the podium. He'll lean in the most awkward fashion. His syntax oftentimes is horrid.

It remains still so disheartening that the Press continues to maintain the fratboy image of GWB. They are constantly "surprised" that in person, he exhibits none of the stereotypes they've come to believe. Hence, they write these inane pieces about "discovering" the real W, all the while, we have always known the REAL W. Go figure.

Thanks deport. I saw this earlier. I was quite taken by the article. I saw the speech live and thought that the President was given a less than rousing response by the audience. I figured it was because of where he was, the voter base being likely democrat voters, not necessarily that they didn't like the message.

Great piece. I certainly don't want to compare Dubya to Reagan, but I think in time, people will realize they had a lot in common in who they are as people, and yes, even in politics.
