I've never been to Crawford, but I hear it's a pretty place.
This article makes it sound like a nice place, people-wise.
Have a cup while you FReep !

Ahem...a repost of your "Hillary as Dale Evans" work might be in order here......the stage is set.

Prairie Chapel School on a foggy spring morning - the President's ranch is up the road and to the right

That may be a little tough. She might end up on the spit with an apple in her mouth. Oops, sorry, wrong porker.

Hee hee...I got caught up in another thread and forgot. Here goes....
It would be so easy to laugh her off as a pathetic joke if wasn't for the fact that she has some pathetic jokes who vote for her.

Valerie, that is a gorgeous picture. You have an amazing eye for natural beauty. I'm going to Crawford tomorrow for Liz Carpenter's book signing, how about you?
Regarding the Crawford students -- The Waco Tribune Herald runs a "Teen" section with teen writers once a week. Last week one of the writers was a Crawford high school student reflecting on the ups and downs of having the President as a neighbor. After 9/11 there is apparently a little safety anxiety among some of the students which I thought was sad.

Beautiful pictures, thanks. From all that I've heard it was barren and dusty.

Reminds me of the movie Hope Floats with the small town atmosphere.
Has to be murder on those big city boys.

The media hates going to Crawford because there isn't much nightlife around like DC or any other big city. Which is all the more reason President Bush should spend as much time as possible there.
Here's hoping President Bush ignores the Hillsow trying to extort an invitation for herself to his ranch. That was just plain rude of her.

I hadn't heard about the book signing? What time is it? I might go out there - I have some boys here visiting from Washington state, and want to get pictures of them by Prairie Chapel School for their moms.
To: ValerieUSA
Shame faced here. Went to ask my husband what time, and he pulled out the invite. It's NEXT Sunday, 8/18. This after he told me it was tomorrow and I rearranged everything and told everybody on the whole WWW it is tomorrow. Sorry, but he sometimes doesn't stay on top of details which I've learned to live with, lol. If you want the details for next Sunday, feel free to freepmail me.

Val, was that picture with the waterfall taken last week? If so looks like they've had some rain based upon the grass being so green...

This has been a wetter and cooler than usual summer - only a couple days of triple digit heat... I think last year or the year before we had a 2 month run of consecutive days over 100 degrees
To: ValerieUSA
Haha! He's close to being throttled, lol. I was all psyched to go tomorrow and told everybody I know I was going. Laura Bush was invited to this book signing so I thought it might be a good opportunity for a sighting. Now I have to wait a week : (
