The government doesn't want you to know this because to this day they have no way to detect bombs being brought onto planes. They want you to keep flying.

They also don't want the flying public to know that TWA Flight 800 was taken out by a $7,000 black market shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile because they have no way of defending against that either.

I had not known or considered the timing of the shoot-down order. One could still have the suspicion, I suppose, that the shoot-down order in fact was issued earlier.

But the key point here, is that your line of reasoning assumes that the Toledo F-16s would only have been ordered to pursue Flight 93 pursuant to a shoot-down order. That assumption is not well founded. For example, all the military jets were scrambled, and told to intercept the hijacked airliners, well before anyone has suggested that any order was given to shoot down any airliners. The Toledo F-16s might have been ordered to pursue Flight 93 before any decision had been made regarding the shoot-down policy.

Something caused that sonic boom. The conceivable choices are:

1. a UFO
2. a glitch in the seismic detection equipment
3. one or more military jets

My duaghter's best friend's Dad is an ATC. He was on duty and in a place where he saw everything on 9/11. He is forbidden to discuss it. Period. I asked him again last week. Still can't talk.

The only thing I could get out of him was it "was creepy."

I've always felt that these guys got shot down.

However, the "lets roll" story is much better for the war effort.
