Israel to send experts to Congo

Aug. 7, 2002

Israel has pledged to send a delegation of agricultural and industrial experts to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to assess the war-torn African country's needs and explore how Israel can help it rebuild, Israeli officials said yesterday.

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres made the pledge during a meeting in Jerusalem yesterday with Congolese Foreign Minister Leonard She Okitundu.

Peres briefed Okitundu on the nascent Israeli-Palestinian security contacts. He said there is no justification for Palestinian terror and that Israel does not lack a peace plan, but rather a peace partner. Peres also stressed the need to provide a "political horizon" to the Palestinians and to improve the humanitarian situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Okitundu explained how Rwanda and Congo reached a peace agreement last month aimed at ending a devastating war in which up to two million people have died. Israel's offer came a day after the World Bank approved more than $450 million in aid for Congo.

Israel has in the past provided military aid and training to various African forces and commando units, including units of the army of Zaire, as Congo was previously known.

We had a recent thread which got to contain mostly quotes of LarryLied, in order to illustrate his antisemitism. It illustrated antisemitism all right: the thread was pulled for antisemitic content.

Just came back to this thread. Sorry about patriot7.

Cachelot, why didn't you warn him that we also learned, on the pulled thread LL antisemite thread, that one of his defences is that he "rats out" antisemites and white supremecists to FR, presumably based on FR or EMail, since it's not stuff posted here.

Nice guy.

Nah, that was just an isolated incident and not the rule. I think it was arranged. This was what happened (it's still on the board, not to mention in my archives :):

Some guy turns up here sounding extremely weird, almost caricature weird. Calls himself "Night and fog", something like that. LarryLied has a lightbulb turned on upstairs and yells to everyone, including the AM, that he knows that the germans used the term "Nacht Und Nebel", thus proving that he has at least a second-grade public education. "Night and Fog" is thrown out, Voegelin gets a pat on the head, and cannot possibly be an antisemite. "Night and Fog" probably goes back to LibertyForum and gives Voegelin a hi-five.

Dickens & Madson's owner is former Mossad agent Ari Ben-Menashe.

And this is significant because...?

We have strayed far from the topic of the thread "Israel to send experts to Congo" haven't we?

Ari Ben-Menashe's Dickens and Madison concern over Mugabe's possible defeat brings us back on topic. The Israeli former Mossad agent was concerned about not being able to launder diamonds from the Congo through Zimbabwe.

It's not from what I can tell. Thread-filler.

I'm still not seeing the importance of this or what this has to do with my original point on this thread or the other one that farmers shouldn't mix with hunter-gatherers.

Don't feel bad. Nobody else gets it either. There is nothing to get.
