Are you talking about Calico? LOL! Another tourist trap for folks from Airzona and other states.

Want to see a real old west town? Go Bodie California, up in the Sierras. It became known as the "most lawless, wildest and toughest mining camp the far west has ever known".

Great place, very historic.

You are a blithering idiot. Oh, I see, you live in Alabama. Of course, Alabama, one of our paragons of culture, education, natural beauty, etc., etc., etc. - NOT!!!

You are apparently one of the weak-minded individuals that Ann Coulter spoke of, except you are on the conservative side of the fence. Try discussing a topic rather than resorting to petty insults.

Culture? You want to talk culture when you have Hollyweird, swishy homosexuals out the on the streets in their little drag queen outfits, the liberal socialist education the children get, teaching them how to love a snail darter and kill a baby. That is not to forget the education they get about fisting member of the same sex. Don't even get me started on the drugs, whinos, homeless, pimps, hookers, Berkeley, etc. BTW, we have a TON of natural beauty here in Alabama. However, given your apparent biases, I doubt that you could see that. You know, it's funny; I always thought the stereotypical hatred of the South was only on the left. It is apparent that some conservatives view "flyover country" with contempt, as well.

Do yourself a favor and go back and read what I have written instead of flying off the handle.

I know that there are plenty of traditional-style conservative Californians, particularly on the central coast - a big reason why I've sent my freshman daughter to SLO for college - in the high desert and the great Central Valley. These are the folks who keep the dream alive and prevent the Bel Air Bolsheviks from enacting even more extreme legislation than they already do. The Bay Area and LA Basin political machines are the enemy, they're very well entrenched at the state level, and they add to their power base every day with illegal immigration and the spread of socialist patronage. The inmates are running the asylum here, and using their media megaphones to convince the rest of us that we're the crazy ones.

People in the great lakes region and the north east don't realize how brutal a winter can be.

With all due respect, that's horse hockey. Come to my home town of Duluth and experience a northeast wind off Lake Superior during a January snow storm. Believe me, you'll beg for Omaha. Or perhaps a February morning about an hour north of here in Tower, where it's -39 with a bracing wind.

We've got wind, ice and sleet in spades. And if you want real snow, there's always Buffalo. What you call winter in Omaha, we call November :)

Yes, it would be frustrating. Mainly because liberals are so closed-minded. Practically none of them have ever questioned or revised the political views they established for themselves when they were 20. While we read "their" media (NYTimes), they wouldn't be caught dead reading "ours" (WSJ). They respond to our arguments, as Ann Coulter has pointed out, with personal insults rather than counter-arguments. All is based on emotion. They learn nothing from history. They think that you can keep trying the same failed policies (like price controls) and get a different result. Their ideology gets in the way of their common sense (racial profiling of Arabs at airports). They are just impossible. Therefore, when you are surrounded by them, whole chunks of things you like to talk about are off limits, if you want to keep neighborly relations. It is quite unsatisfying.

Oh, you mean back when our elected representatives weren't all corrupt, crooks, con men, and deviates? When our major companies and corporations in this country cared about their employees and had some allegiance to America?

If Hollywierd's the state's anus?
Why then, Bezerkely has to be the sphincter.

We actually have several more feet of intestinal anatomic sites we could assign to that place.

I don't go to barbeques and shoot-outs because I've got a job and family that take all my time

It isn't just a BBQ and shoot-out. It is a chance to get out beyond the pavement with your wife and kids and get active supporting the Second Amendment. Maybe teach your wife to defend herself and teach the kids about gun safety. Several of us are Certified NRA Instructors and Range Safety Officers who donate our time to provide insruction and make sure everyone has a safe, fun time. At the same time you might meet Jim Robinson(yes, he and his family came to one of our shoots), AnnaZ(FReeper, host of Free Republic Radio's Unspun with AnnaZ, and Nat'l Spokeswoman for the Liberty Belles), Joe and Jennifer(Nat'l Directors of the Liberty Belles), Richard C.(SoCal NRA Field Rep), Mr.B.(candidate for the 56th Assembly seat,(StoneColdGOP)running for Congress in hte 35th CA Congressional Dist. etc.

I belong to the NRA, the Republican Party, and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association too.

Do you just belong or are you active. Are you going to precinct walk for your local candidates and Bill Simon?

I give money to Free Republic, the Boy Scouts, and the Salvation Army.

...and that excuses you from being active! Point is we all have lives and families, but if youy want to make their lives better you need to do more than just donate. GET ACTIVE!

What about my statement "Run by liberal Democrats, for liberal Democrats" is incorrect?

Nothing, now is the time to get active and change things.

Remember, Ronald Reagan was once Governor of this great state!
