Scripture talked about this phenomenon long before psychiatrists and psychologists came along. Christ referred to it as "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit;" i.e., one gets so deeply into one's immorality that he can no longer hear the call to normalcy.

These are all truly lost souls until or unless someone or something breaks through their walls of denial. Interestingly enough, I've seen polls which indicate fully 70% and up from the pro-abortion side of the argument agree that abortion is murder. But then they say, in effect, "So what?"

Don't lose heart! I think prayer is more powerful than any amount of sin in our culture, and that God will indeed hear us. We must be diligent. =)
