| A Los Angeles motorist was arrested today south of Fresno after he allegedly ran from California Highway Patrol officers who were checking a citizen's tip involving the kidnapping and killing of 5-year-old Samantha Runnion of Stanton in Orange County. Fresno County sheriff's Lt. Greg Burton said there is no evidence that the man is Samantha's killer and that the man, whose identity was not immediatly disclosed, was only arrested for allegedly running away from the officers. "At this time, we don't know if he is the man being sought," said Burton. Burton said CHP officers were checking out a citizen's tip that a man matching the description of Smantha's kidnapper was at a truck stop at Central Avenue and Freeway 99 when they attempted to contact the man. The investigation is continuing. |
