Hey, if Sen. FRist has $20 million, that's because he's a doctor! (Heart surgeon, IIRC.) Where have the others earned their fortunes? Or have they?

From what I understand, he spent something like $13 million of his own money buying his Senate seat, and tried to renege
on the campaign promise that he'd only take $1 per year in salary for the job because he was broke.

He made his money the old fashioned way, his family started a department store, and he got a nice inheritance.

I found the information on Roll Call

Although they break it down there to the top richest in Congress

And there, broken down: "Thirty-three lawmakers on the list are Republicans; 17 are Democrats.
