I was not aware of the website where this story was originally published, I found it in another magazine that attributed it to American Renaissance. If you read the article in its entirety, you may find some racial overtones, but certainly it doesn't plunge to the depths of the KKK.

The importance of the article, I think, is to publicize a vicious crime and to point out the irrefutable fact that it has not received the same media coverage it would have had the races been reversed. The author also speculates on what might have happened if it had been a white-on-white crime or a black-on-black crime.

Because you first heard about this story on a questionable website rather than the Chicago or Washington papers it makes it less credible? Tell that to the four dead people.

Oh, I don't even hear his explanation for how the website is "questionable." I would challenge him right now to comb through the info on that site - which is a priceless source on this subject, by the way - and explain exactly how their facts are in error.

Then when he can't, tell him to take his "guilt by association" intellectual laziness over to Salon or DU.

Meanwhile the press- CNN and Canadian Global, keep replaying the video of the lad being roughed by police. Again and again. Now there appears to be an old white neanderthal, neutered of course, on CNN. This man appears to be a poster boy for diversity. (Token white)- I stand to be corrected though.

Excuse this diatribe but..... yesterday this man gave a blurb about "we will go to the limit"- he said that they will "test the limits with the exploration of news". He went on with a pious declaration of how CNN would not descend to sensationalism. He said though, that they would seek out and bring news to the public. News that others dare not. Aaron Brown- anyone? Reminds me of a case about four years ago. Five white teenagers jumped on a freight train for a lark, they jumped off in the "wrong" neighbourhood in Flint, Michigan. A girl was raped and either she or a companion was killed.

A very solid man, a black truck driver, rescued the surviving teens- God love him. The criminals were young blacks. A racist crime, yes. The press? Silence was golden generally. Got it on the Michigan T/V- I think ,though. If only there were some coming together of right thinking blacks and whites. Hey, the white dominated press do not want it.

this one are so severely underreported, you have
to ask yourself why.  The answer is enough to

This was a most horrible HATE CRIME but hasn't gotten national coverage.....hopefully the trial will and the murders will get the death penalty.

If the article is accurate, I doubt very seriously that any such thing will come out in the trial. The article gives the impression that they are seasoned criminals who searched for random white victims. If they had just been robbing them, or if the crimes had involved both black and white victims, it would be hard to argue the case of a "hate crime". Since all the victims were white and hatefully abused, the crimes should be labeled "hate crimes" the same as they would be if the races were reversed.

This sounds to me like another glaring example of the blatant double standards existent in the government's ridiculous "hate crime" categorizations. If two white males were caught on a rampage like this, and if their victims were all minorities - blacks, asians, hispanics, muslims, or homosexuals - we would be inundated with constant coverage by the mainstream media.

I wasn't questioning the article's veracity, as I have no way of telling if the report is accurate or not. That said, the facts seem to generally corroborate with other reports; the problem I have is with the spin placed on those facts.

Skeptical? Go to the American Renaissance site and do the reading there. Follow their links. Google on the authors of the articles, the books reviewed, etc. See if those things don't turn up an organization with a serious racial axe to grind.

Thanks for the update. This brutal story first came to my attention through Front Page magazine, and I followed the threads on Free Republic over the next several days. I am terribly, terribly disappointed to learn that these two SOB's are still alive. I'd love to see O'Reilly or Hannity climb all over this one.

Possibly, I have no interest in AR. But the article taken by itself represents a legitimate point of view. Certain public servants, public figures and the national media have conducted themselves in a hypocritical & thoroughly disgusting manner regarding these murders.

That's a silly question. Of course not. I find the source's motivation to be highly suspect, and they spin the crime quite blatantly. Take the following quotation from the article:

It is true that Reginald Carr had a white girlfriend, and it may be that the race of the victims was unimportant to him. At the same time, Jonathan Carr wore a FUBU sweatshirt, a brand popular with black rappers that is said to stand for "For Us, By Us." Some blacks wear FUBU clothing as a statement of black solidarity if not outright rejection of whites.

Never mind that one psycho had a white girlfriend, the other guy had a FUBU shirt on!! He must be a racist! Puhleeze.

So suddenly we go from "two black males commit horrible racially-motivated massacre" to "two black males commit horrible massacre." Still a disgusting crime, for which these two bastards richly deserve death, but probably not racially motivated.

I suppose I should give the article's author credit for even mentioning the discrepancy in the first place. Frankly, it surprised the hell out of me.

Are you saying this story is untrue? What in it is false?

By the way, when I was attacked by a black gang in Landover, MD and beaten with baseball bats for no reason (other than my race) a few years ago, I was totally unable to get the story covered by the local media. So I can easily believe what this story says about a media blackout. And now there is a whole book on the subject, William McGowan's Coloring the News.
