There are a great many things for which the religion of Islam can be validly criticized, but these laws are not among them, since they are un-Islamic.

Granted, but it seems as though many "true" Moslems, in positions of authority, are afraid to speak out against the excesses of those who do violence in the name of Islam.

I know of no Christians, in positions of authority, who would remain silent if any group committed crimes in the name of Christ.

Haven't been following recent news stories about the Catholic Church, have you? These bishops, obviously in positions of authority, were at least accessories, and at worst co-conspirators.

As far as I know, the perpetrators of these vile acts were not doing them in the name of Christ, although purportedly some told the boys that these sexual acts were another way of taking communion.

Actually, I don't disagree with you. I think if some group started slaughtering non-Christians and claimed it was in the name of Christ, Christians throughout the world would denounce them. I know I would.

Christians in the past have committed a great many crimes in the name of Christ. The difference is the Muslims are commiting crimes in the name of Allah today, and few Muslims are willing to say it is un-Islamic. They may be afraid of the fanatics, or they may in agreement with them.

Either way, they seem to have no clue what kind of fire they are playing with.
