Faulkner was the best witness for the defense so far, but he was not necessarily the home run that some have portrayed him to be. Feldman tried very hard to get him to say that the post mortem interval began between the 16th and the 18th, and Dusek tried to get him to say as often as possible that the 18th was the LATEST date the body could have dumped at Dehesa Road. The question now is: which testimony did the jury focus on? If the jury was already of a mind to convict, they probably heard the testimony that Dusek was emphasizing. If they had siginificant doubts about Westerfield's guilt, those doubts have now been significantly reinforced. Only time will tell.
