Since then, I've found (and used =) what I think is the same article of independentmind's on Rumsfeld and Carlyle but not the original thread.
It's possible it went down the memory hole if the original poster got nuked. I'll give it a try, though.
I was hoping we were going to get to dredge up the Gallup poll article, actually. Perhaps that will serve if the Carlyle article has indeed been destroyed.
I believe the title of the thread had something to do with Judicial Watch ... is that your recollection as well?
