What war?
This is at most a police action.

The Vietnam "conflict" was officially a police action which was in reality an un-declared war. We classified our captured enemy combatants as Prisoners of War, and allowed them all the protections provided for by the Geneva Convention.

The "War on Terror" is officially a war but is in reality an international police action against international criminals. Bush said so in his speech today.

"...these are like international criminals, is what they act like. They kind of hide and order things up and hide again..."

Even though we are told that we really are at war, our Prisoners of War are classified as "captured enemy combatants," and we are told publicly that they do not merit the protections of the Geneva Convention.

Excuse me for believing that there is something fishy going on.

If Clinton was still President, or even Gore, there is no way members of this forum would quietly accept the behavior of our government.

How else do you classify combatants that act independently of their own country?? Very pedantic of you, exodus.

But what I love most in reading your stuff is the knee jerk claim that if it was Gore doing this, we'd be up in arms.That only partisanship drives our thinking.It may for you.

But I'm not you.I am made of sterner stuff.

But if harping on how independent you are is supposed to be proof of your intelligence, then go for it.I don't care.

And only a fool would think that Al Gore would know how to think his way out a soggy Buddhist Temple fortune cookie, let alone marshall US forces abroad to wipe out al Qada.

But don't let that stop you from thinking Gore would do the same as Bush, and even be an improvement.
