Thanks for the ping. Interesting thread.
Growing up in south Florida we used to run behind the fogging machines to get away from the swarms of mesquitos. This was in the late '50's and early '60's. The DDT had a neglible effect on the ecosystem and humans.
Then again, I can't figure out why I have an extra head growing out of my neck.

I live in Houston, West Nile is here now. Dead birds, mosquitoes test positive & several dead horses around town.. My yard is very wooded & backs up to a ravine. Lots of mosquitoes & I am allergic to DEET. I bought a Mosquito Magnet & its working quite well.
