That may be why, according to a poll taken in 2000 by the National Commission on the Rights of Man, 63 percent of French people think there are "too many Arabs" in the country. This may be evidence of racism, but not of knee-jerk racism: Only 43 percent of Frenchmen say the same of blacks, only 21 percent of Asians, and only 19 percent of Jews.

The next person that screams about how horrible and institutionalized racism is in America I'm buying them a ticket to Euorope or Asia so they can see for themselves what institutionalized racism is all about.

I doubt that France has the manhood to defend itself against the Muslims. Instead they will likely surrender and within a few years, the Muslims will be the majority there.

No - the "superpredator" problem is NOT 'just like the US.' With the exception of ultra-liberal large cities like NYC, LA, the Bay Area, DC, and a few others, most in the Red Zone know how to deal with "superpredators" when they come calling. It's called the Second Amendment. Big cities which forbid firearms have lost it. So has Europe. Thus, they have "superpredators."

This whole statehood thing is simply a few people with too much time on their hands and the expertise to give the press a good, interesting story.

We have badly undermaintained streets, a Board of Elections that still doesn't have accurate word boundaries for the September primary election, a DMV in meltdown, and a police department in serious need of good management.

We have the best mediocre mayor of our short political history in Tony Williams. He is better than Sharon Pratt Kelly. He's better than Barry was in his second two terms, but far worse thatn Barry did in his first years. At least during that time Barry attracted a number (not all) of really good Department level managers. Williams has done zilch there.

We're treading water, but the Washington Post can't report it because of its unquetioning support for Williams in the past. The Wahington Times is the major voice pointing out that the emperor is not fully clothed. We are all so politically correct.

So if you're outside of DC, this statehood stuff is nonsense and we all know it here. It's just un-PC to say so.

Some time in the not-too-distant future (a couple decades at most), the average Joe in the Western world will look around himself with utter disbelief. He will see the carnage wrought on formerly prosperous societies by immigration policies that are simply insane. He will look back on the time period of 1960-2010 as totally incomprehensible. How on earth did we allow this to happen?

Stange thing is, I won't have any rational explanation for him. Immigration policies throughout the western world are as as uniformly self-destructive as they are viciously defended by the political left.

France will have civil war on its hands (if they defend their nation....they will become second class citizens in a muslim republic if they don't). The UK is not too far behind them. The American SW is actively being absorbed into Latin America, even as most of our cities have already slipped the Western leash and gone "third world".

Sadly, I'm coming to believe that things will have to get much worse before they will ever get better. The West has been peaceful and prosperous for far too long, and its peoples have grown flabby and overly self-confident that their societies will continue to operate as they have regardless of govt policies.

It will take a serious economic downturn, combined with more violence directed at Westerners by our loveable visa friends from the middle east, before joe average gets off of his couch and asserts himself.

Hamza recently launched a telecommunications business that works with Bouygues and MCI in one of France's worst neighborhoods. Seine St-Denis, just north of Paris, is the most violent departement in France. La Courneuve, where Hamza's company is headquartered above a nearly deserted mini-mall, is one of the bleaker corners of it.

I wonder if Mr. Hamaz (who apparently harbors a great hatred for "the west") realizes that it's that same evil west that developed the tech. that allows him to have his business?

Are you kidding me? 43% of Frenchmen (which includes, I assume, all the minority groups listed) think there are too many blacks, and this is not evidence of massive knee-jerk racism by the French?

Could you imagine a poll taken in the US that said that 43% of all Americans think there are too many blacks? The press would have a conniption.

It looks to me like there are entirely too many dumbass Frenchmen in France.

But there is a big difference between concern over Muslims and concern over blacks and jews and asians. The latter is just plain bigotry. The former may be bigotry or it may simply be a reaction to the fact that too many Islamic terrorists exist in the world.

As Fred Barnes summed it up on Special Report, most Muslims are not terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslims.

Yes, the Algerians have taken over the city - but that's not a bad thing. One cannot tell the difference between a real Frenchwoman and an Algerian/Frenchwoman. Even the Algerian street vendors speak beautiful French.

The good thing about France is that they keep their underclasses OUT of the cities.

What this article neglects to mention is the affect of the Wall coming down has had on organized crime in Europe.

The Danish, Sweds and Norwegians had a dust up called the "Nordic Biker Wars" as the local chapters of the Hells Angels and the Banditos biker gangs started using dirt cheap AK-47's and rocket propelled grenades on each other's club houses and across the Coppenhagen (sp)? International airpower as a part of the drug trade.

All three nations cracked down on the biker gangs. This was aided by the fact that the locals involved were all white.

The problem for the French is that the Muslim quarters of their cities are now rife with both Islamists and organized crime.

I'd bet that the Islamists in France are now more heavily armed than the French police and a large part of the P.C. campaign by the French authorities is an attempt to avoid that subversive fact from getting out.
