Hadn't been there in years. Didn't know the fire suppression was at all decent. Guess when the super-rich liberal elites have THEIR summer homes in a fire-prone area, all that "no-roads, no-cut" stuff goes right out the window.


Glad to hear they jumped on it and have it controlled.
I lived north of Chico (Butte/Tehama county border) back in 1990 and I remember the consequence of slow response to a brush fire...131,000 acres burned, and some homes and cabins were lost.

The burning property belongs to Nevada State Parks, U.S. Forest Service and California Tahoe Conservancy District.

Heavenly Ski Resort property is intact except for spot fires burning near Stagecoach and Boulder lifts, said Tim Smith, fire chief at Tahoe-Douglas Fire Protection District.

Big surprise there. The National stuff burns, the private stuff doesn't.
