You pose an excellent question. It's like we're all waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's common knowledge that there are terrorist sleeper cells in this country. Why have they not been apprehended? What will it take?

You pose an excellent question. It's like we're all waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's common knowledge that there are terrorist sleeper cells in this country.

What is not common knowledge is how competent these sleepers are.

The really smart ones went out in a blaze of glory on 9/11. The question is, "Just how good are their second-string players?"

Why have they not been apprehended? What will it take?

Probable cause--and that means a lot of hard work. But there are Freepers out there who scream bloody murder at the idea of giving the FBI the power it needs to actually perform the required investigations.

I think I heard Donald Rumsfeld make a good comment on this issue, when he was being interviewed recently on CNBC. He pointed out that every time we interdict one of their cells, operations, plans, etc., they "go to school on us", in other words, they study "what we know about them, how we came to know about it, and what they can do to bypass that hurdle in the future".

In other words, they are trying to walk softly and carry a big stick, just as we are trying to walk softly and take away their big stick - without them learning too much as to how we did it. Or something like that.
