You think this is and example of media activism?

True, a camera's presence changes the reality of what is being filmed, but they were gleeful, and for that we rightly winced with angst when we saw that. Even so, rational conservatives do not condemn a whole people or religion for that, while DU provocateurs and militia nutcase yahoos might.

Okay, but I truly wish I shared your optimism.

I am very concerned about a cultural clash CJ. A religious clash.

And those are the worst kind, because you can appease nations with purely economic interests.. But when you are dealing with a people or nation state motivated by what they believe to be a direct instruction from the Almighty, then there is nothing to stop them. Nothing can appease them and nothing will end the conflict but a military solution or the intervention of the Almighty himself.

That's a frightening scenario and that's what the Jew's face daily so that Yassir can remain in power. I have no desire to see it play out here while we play mister nice guy.

I am amazed by this thread. I have been away from FR for months due to ISP troubles and pregnancy. I have been back up with internet access for a few days now and needless to say, FR has changed a great deal.

I realize this is going to be a very un-PC post for FR. Amazing that it could find it's way here, but since I have been relearning my way around all the new changes, this forum is positively reeking with PC.

Apparently there are several no-no's which I, for one, find astounding given the nature of this forum. One must not, under any circumstance, say a good thing about the Islamic religion, or against Bush, or for that matter Ann Coulter.
Don't misconstrue what I am about to say. I love Ann Coulter, think Bush is doing a good job, am not Muslim, and I am a true blue, registered Republican who is working on behalf of the conservative cause in whatever way I can.

I just have to ask some questions here. Why does it seem impossible to suggest certain topics that run contrary to majority opinion? To wit: There may be some good muslims out there, Bush might do something Unconstitutional,Ann Coulter might not be perfect?
Since pedophilia is so rampant throughout the Catholic Church-this must mean that all Catholics are pedophiles? Of course not! And I apologize now to all Catholics (especially Alan Keyes whom I admire more than anyone) yet by and large most on this forum are equating all Muslims as terrorist and barbarians, and the Islamic religion as responsible for it.

Have we ever asked ourselves just HOW the Taliban was supposed to turn over Osama? WE can't find him for crying out loud, do we honestly think that it would have been so easy for the Taliban? Oh, I guess given the rights violations over there by all those 'ragheads' (as one freeper put it) the war is therefore completely justified, although goodness knows one hasn't been declared yet.

Another question I wish to posit though I know this will bring on the flame to end all flames and probably much hate freepmail, but I feel it incumbent upon me to ask it.
What makes it more Constitutional to bomb the you-know-what out of Afghanistan than Kosovo? Is it because it is 'our guy' in there? What makes us any better than the Democrats is we fall to that type of thinking? I, for one, refuse to rubber stamp an action which I consider contemptous of our Constitution just because someone I voted for does it.

I see that there are pictures posted of the Taliban executing women. RAWA---a lovely, (communist) agency. So we are to bed with the commies because women have to wear the burka? Have one of you asked yourself what conditions were like before the Taliban came to power? Just curious. I know, but I would like to know if any of you do. Or if you can imagine a country that has no law, no Constitution, has been ripped for decades (about 3) by civil war, and just who the Taliban was fighting when they took over? Women were the currency, they were dropping like flies from brutality and rape. RAWA isn't going to tell you that because quite honestly, the Taliban were fighting their communist brothers.

No the Taliban were not great sympathizers of human rights and decency, but they were not any worse than what existed before. Our own State Dept. has records of this, and according to some of them, we were working with the Taliban to establish some type of Constitution for Afghanistan. Perhaps Osama didn't like that idea.

Whatever the case here freepers, I know I have alot of questions. I refuse to swallow wholesale propaganda, and lest we all forget, War has a certain tendency to leave less of the Constitution than before. I am extremely leery of the proposals coming out of Washington. I am not fond of most of them for one reason or another. I am also disturbed about current polls showing that most Americans would readily cede their liberty for a little more safety.
Sound familiar?

I too want the perpetrators of 911 brought to justice. My husband had many good friends in those towers where he used to work, but I am not going to forget everything I know and all my principles for the sake of revenge. I would ask that all Freepers keep in mind that FR is nothing if not the free exchange of ideas.
